I always say that it's important to know WHY you go to the greyhound track. If you're determined to make a living at it, you need a whole different approach from people who only go once in awhile. An evening out with friends and a few $2 bets can be cheap but exciting entertainment.
But even if you go a few times a year, you might want to think about those losing tickets you throw on the floor after each race. Wouldn't it be a much better night out if your dogs ran in the money and paid for your meal and drinks? Wouldn't it be even better if you went home with a little more than you came in with?
That's why, even if you're not a big bettor or track goer, if you go more than twice a year, you should think about getting a system to help you pick winners. That way, you can learn it and practice it on paper before you go to the track next time.
If you put in a few hours with it, who knows, maybe the next time you go out to the track with your friends, you'll be able to give them some tips and they can cash tickets too. They'll probably wonder how you got so good at picking dogs and you can tell them - if you want to.
Or, you can just keep it to yourself and let them think that you've become the local Nick the Greek and have a natural talent for greyhound handicapping. Either way, with a good system, you're much more likely to go home a winner. Isn't that what we all want when we bet on anything in life?
